Marcelo in the real world by Francisco X. stork

(5/5) stars

my first hard cover book :')

click here for the book's summary.

you know those books that when you're reading you don't hear a thing around you ? those books that you just know you gonna love. you know what you'll rate it and what you'll say after words from the first 50 pages.

this is the kind of thing that happened to me in this book

Okay so let me start by saying :

why the HELL is this book not famous ??!

nothing annoys me more than finishing a book and loving it and then open good reads and see how under ratted it is it's so dis pointing ! this book is just plain perfect all the characters are so real and even the ones that only showed up once you feel like you know everything about them.

So Marcelo is the most adorable boy i have ever SEEN !

“Boy, you really break things down, don't you?''

"Some say it is an illness.''(< -Marcelo)

''We should all be so ill.”

first the way he talks about him self in the third person i found really adorable idk exactly why but i loved it. some books try to make a character innocent and end up making a: clumsy , stupid , dork needing a wake up slap across the face....but Marcelo however is the exact opposite he's : the nicest , most adorable person ever..that makes you feel like slapping yourself because you're should be as kind as him...

"then why with Marcelo?" -Marcelo

"I don't know. Do you always ask so many questions? it just seems okay, that's all" -jasmine

"maybe Jasmine doesn't see Marcelo as a man." -Marcelo

I just love reading about illnesses and conditions that idk about  it's like seeing a world through someone else's eyes.

i really recommend this book and I hate how underrated it is i never read any books about autism before so that was a great as a first book about the subject.

i can totally see my self rereading this book.

“The right note sounds right and the wrong note sounds

wrong.”

this review is way shorter then i planned but when i love a book so much i end up not knowing what to say to describe how much i love it and i end up with a short review
when you find a short review it doesn't mean i don't love it!

see you soon :3 !

Question of the day:

what would you do if you knew someone just like Marcelo in real life?

Water for elephants by sara gruen

(5/5) stars

the book's summary

so my information about circus are very limited as the last time i actually went was when i was 5 years old and i don't remember a thing. so all my information where based on movies (if u count dumbo as a source of info.)...and water for elephants changed that completely.

to be honest at first the book wasn't the  grab-it-every-chance-i-get kind of book because all i said was "i won't like this book" until i actually believed it but after a while i felt my self liking the book and it's like i'm actually living with them. you know those movies that when they are scared you're scared ,when they're screaming you scream inside (or in my case outside) ? will that what water for elephants did.

all i thought about when i thought about the circus is that it's such an easy job u get money for doing something you love which isn't even tiring i didn't know the hardship that they face. and that apparently no job is easy in this world

i really loved this book all the characters are so real and it's actually my second book with a boy as the protagonist and i loved this one more. i like seeing the view point of a boy (even if the author is actually a girl)

i really recommend this book to anyone i was actually looking and trying to vary the genres that i read a bit and water for elephants didn't disappoint...so yeah go pick it up and don't go the easy way and watch the movie every bookaholic knows that the movie is never as good as the book......i actually became interested in elephants too

and here's magic by cold play because it always reminds me of the book !

Question of the day:
have you read this book ? what do you think about the movie adaption?

Broken Glass by Tabitha Freeman

infinity + 1 / 5 stars !!!!!!

*i received a copy from the author for an honest review*
''Ava, do you ever think how crazy it is that our hands fit together perfectly? They just mold to each other, you know? Like two pieces of a puzzle that just…click."

this was hands down the most beautiful and perfect book i read in 2014 and may even include 2013 there's just to much to say about this book that i may end up rereading it 30 times to not forget anything

"Couldn't say in front of the guys. I luv u
sooooo much, Ava, & I always will, no matter
what happens. I’ll always be here. I luv u
infinity + 1"

so what's this book even about you ask?

Ava Darton had it all she had friends the perfect (perfect infi-

inity +1 may i add) fiance and went to the perfect university

and in a matter of moments it was all gone..

in her attempt to get rid of it all she tries to kill herself and

fails and instead getting sent off to cranville a hospital for the

mentally ill...in a time when everything feels like it fell apart

Ava learns weather her life is worth living or not.

so maybe you've heard this plot a lot in other novels and now

you're like "meh, that's old i want something new" and you

know why you're saying that?

yes you are !! do i look like i'm done with my review?? ha? do

i?? you just stick around and then u judge 'kay?

the romance between tryson and Ava was the most

romantic and beautiful romance i ever seen in a book. yeah i

said that. i was just so into the romance i had a hard time

believing that it was only 25 page or so . i felt like it was

really infinity+1 they were perfect to say the least.

Tabitha freeman have a beautiful way of writing and making

every single character, lead or not to be hilarious i was

seriously laughing out loud at times which got me strange

looks from my parents but i didn't care because i was so into

the story.

i would've finished the story in one sitting if I've started on it

earlier the story just pulls u in and you just have to finish it i

read it until i fell asleep and then as soon as i woke up and

my eyes are still half open i began reading.

you know how some authors  have this way of making

everything alright in the end? that somehow no matter what

there was in the middle of the story you still finish the book

with a smile on your face ? this is exactly what happened

with me when i finished Broken Glass.

i was never a believer in second love i was one of those who

believed that you  just have one soul mate and if he's gone or

you broke up you shouldn't love again and if u loved again

then he/she weren't your soul mate and your new love is..

but  this book awaken something in me and now ik that

when you love again it doesn't mean  you didn't love the one

before but that life goes on and that there was a reason

behind you being the one left behind and that you have to

move on with your life and live life to the fullest.

a lot of us can relate to Ava. when we lose someone dear to

us we feel like time will stop now there's no purpose in our

life anymore and we just give up everything and shut people

out as if this will help bring them back to life. we cling to the

memories because it the only thing we have left from them.

and we stay miserable forgetting that they would never have

wanted to make us miserable and all they wanted was for us

to say happy and move on with our lives

“You’re living in the past…in memories that are in but a

single moment. You’re walking backwards in shoes that

don’t fit.”

i don't exactly know what's with me and supporting

characters ? i honestly have no idea why but i always end up

liking them more then the lead

characters them selves there's unsolved mystery behind it. in

this book iwas Shakespeare henry and channing they

where Ava's friends in carnville and they where so nice that i

felt like i wanna know more about each of them.

so all in all this story is PERFECT! i finished it in 5 hours

yesterday plus one hour today, which didn't happen in a

long time please don't be taken down by the a-bit-cliche

summary because this book is defiantly worth reading and i

can totally see myself rereading it. i totally recommend this

book to anyone.

“If I have the strength to sit here for months,” he murmured,

almost painfully. “Falling more and more hopelessly in love

with you every single day, while you’re still madly in love

with a ghost, then you can have that same kind of strength

to move on from this.”

Read this as an e-book. Unfortunately not yet available in Egypt but you can always special order it from any bookstore.

The kite runner by Khaled Hosseini

(spoiler free)
5/5 stars

okay where do i start...

*15 mins later*

For the book summary click here

the kite runner is one of those unforgettable books that just stick with you.

some stories leave you with tears in you eyes
some stories leave you with one tear falling down
some leaves you with two tears falling down

the kite runner?

IT LEAVES YOU SOBBING !!!!

don't think you're too cool to cry like that cause you will !

"For you, a thousand times over."

i never ever ever cried from a book the kite runner broke my record in that and know what ? i don't regret a thing it's such an awesome story to the point where you'll go begging everyone you know to read it just to understand your feels you just have to get it out of your system

"Children aren't coloring books. You don't get to fill them

with your favorite colors."

on good reads there's a low rate trend going on which annoyed me very much considering how much I loved the story (yes i'm protective of the stories I love) okay i admit that some parts where disturbing but I read a lot of Jodi Picoult books so i'm pretty used to the why-do-you-do-this-to-us faze and those who don't like those kinds of books won't end up liking this book as much as i did. this book will surely make u disturbed at some point but you'll still be satisfied in the end

but i think this book is honest and I wanted to take a break from the fairy tale kind of books that makes you live in fairy land and this book didn't disappoint

finally, don't take the easy way and watch the movie because in my opinion the book is more touching and makes sense more

AND DO NOT JUDGE THE BOOK BASED ON THE MOVIE...

the fault in our stars by john green

my first review people !! (spoiler free)

okay so i know this book is so famous so an introduction is not important but just in case there's someone here who doesn't know it (where have you been?!) i'll write it in red and if u know it just go down to the blue.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has

never been

anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot

twist named

Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to

be completely rewritten.

I like to start by stating that the reason I love this book is because I read it before all the hype and let me tell you i'm super Lucky because recently all my friends who read it say one of the following lines (or even all) :
1- It's over hyped.
2-I didn't cry.
3-totally overrated.
4-I didn't feel the emotion at all.
5-Why is this even famous ?

and my reply is:

I always feel sorry for the books that gets to much hype because what comes after hype is never good. People see the hype and they'll automatically set their expectations to their favorite book EVEN if it's not the same genre therefore they end up either liking it but not loving it like the rest or in some cases hating it.

but still i loved this book.

and i don't know if it's only me or not but i really. no i mean REALLY loved  Isaac (augustus best friend) i feel like john green should do  a companion novel devoted for Isaac he's just so adorable like that i don't know i just liked him so much !!

all the characters are great and i LOVE john green's humor it make you love the characters and while the tears are on you cheeks you suddenly smiling such a mix of feeling okay so it's just great ;)

The thing i hate is how people overrate it just don't overrate. it sucks

Question of the day:

what do you think about TFIOS hype in your opinion ?

the object in the plastic bag

this is actually an essay i made for my english class but i decided to share it here since i actually like it which is a first for me. (she better not give me a B!)

_____________________________________________________________________________

As much as I wanted my trip to be fun. Being with just my parents in Hawaii, and not even my sister with me wasn't that joyful. Like any other day I spent the morning on the beach. Digging bottomless holes in sand until I reached water, but instead of reaching water I found an object in a black plastic bag. I just couldn't fight my urge to open it, Curiosity killed the cat. Inside it was an old looking letter dating from 2005.

I didn't believe it before reading it. The letter was from a woman to her only child. The woman said she was afraid to die before her child knows how much she loves him. And that she never meant to do what she did. I didn't understand what she meant. I decided to search for her. Unfortunately she did pass away and I found her son instead. I gave the letter to him and apologized for reading it. He offered me tea and explained everything. His mom left him to an orphanage when he was just 6 years old. He always had this idea in his head that she hated him so much that she didn't want him anymore. That’s why the letter brought tears to his eyes.

I never once thought that I may help someone in a way that only happens in movies. I defiantly won't forget what happened and it will be one of the stories that I'll tell my grandchildren a hundred times while they're not even listening.

okay so re-reading that now made me realize how awesome it is...yeah ima genius ;)
